Currently deep in production, HBO Max’s Dead Boy Detectives now add Caitlin Reilly and Max Jenkins to its cast. The two new actors on the list will be in recurring roles that will in a way torment the Dead Boys. Reilly will play Litty and Jenkins will be Kingham. Officially, they are:
tiny foul-mouthed dandelion sprites. They are a rude annoyance to the Dead Boys.
Variety reports the development as well as the fact that the series will have eight episodes as HBO Max ordered last April. Dead Boy Detectives were writer Neil Gaiman and artists Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III’s creations. The characters first appeared in The Sandman #25 in April 1991 under Vertigo imprint of DC Comics.

In the comic books, the two boys were ghosts of dead children Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine. Both of whom chose to stay on Earth and became detectives who takes on crime cases that involve supernatural situations.
George Rexstrew will portray Edwin Payne while Jayden Revri will be Charles Rowland. The series in production already has a pilot that Steve Yockey wrote. Yockey is also the executive producer and co-showrunner together with Beth Schwartz. Jeremy Carver joins also as executive producer with Berlanti Productions which Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman represent. Director for the series pilot is Lee Toland Krieger who also is on board as one of the executive producers of the pilot with David Madden. Dead Boy Detectives under Warner Bros. Television which has overall deals with Yockey, Carver, Berlanti Productions and Krieger.
Caitlin Reilly has just wrapped up her shoot for the short movie Two Chairs, Not One before joining Dead Boy Detectives. Her more recent works include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for television. In 2022, she portrayed Jacinda in the television series Loot and Jessica in Hacks.

Meanwhile, Max Jenkins just finished Cat Person and Late Bloomers. Both of which are currently in post-production. His more recent projects are Troy, as well as television series Special and Social Distance. Many remember him as Christopher Doyle in the comedy, crime drama television series Dead to Me.
This will not be the first time Dead Boy Detectives will appear on HBO Max. People already remember the characters from the third season of Doom Patrol which also streams on HBO Max. The characters gained viewer attention thus now, they are getting their own series.
