Blade Slices Marvel Release Dates Back For MCU

As some would expect, the apparent delay of MCU’s Blade starring Mahershala Ali has schedule ramifications to Marvel release dates. Release dates for various titles have moved back. This is not much of a surprise considering that the MCU has always said that ‘it is all connected’. If one title moves, the rest will have to accommodate the change. Sometimes, writers go back to the keyboard to touch up a storyline but sometimes it just has to move back.

This is not a unique occurrence for any studio or movie company. Many projects have had their fair share of delay. There was even a time when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could have premiered ahead of Spider-Man: No Way Home. But we all know what happened there. However, it may be the first time that one movie’s delay affects almost a handful of the Multiverse Saga. If Blade is that kind of a movie, imagine what kind of role he plays for the end of Phase 6?

According to The Hollywood Reporter four from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have their release dates in a new slot. This includes Blade.

First off, Mahershala Ali’s Blade will now be on September 6, 2024 from November 3, 2023. This one we already know is because the project is looking for its director.

Second, the untitled Deadpool 3 which has the wonderful news of Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine opposite Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth is now having the November 8, 2024 slot instead of September 6, 2024. Shawn Levy is still in position to be the lucky director who brings the two characters together in one movie.

Third, Fantastic Four gets its nudge all the way to the next year, February 14, 2025 instead of the November 8, 2024. Maybe it’s fitting to have the First Family of Marvel to premiere on Valentine’s Day instead of the Halloween season. Who knows? While no official cast is on its list, at least it already has its director in Matt Shakman.

Fourth, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is the end of the Multiverse Saga is now back 6 months from its original date. From November 7, 2025, it now has the May 1, 2026 schedule. Right now, this culmination of the current MCU Phases is still under wraps and over more wraps. We don’t expect the production to announce a director soon but we sure hope for two familiar names to fill the directors’ seats. We’re looking at you Russo Brothers… please?

Because of the movements of these titles, it’s possible that it can affect other scheduled release dates for the other wings in the House of Mouse. Still, MCU fans will have to add months to what already seems ages of waiting for their favorite characters to show up. But then what is a few months when one compares it to more than half a decade of wait right?

It truly is all connected.
