Black Panther Wakanda Forever Might Be 2nd Longest MCU Movie

Two movie sites have displayed the run time of the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to be among MCU’s longest movies. In less than two months, Black Panther 2 hits the theaters signaling the end of MCU Phase 4.

In the recent D23 Ryan Coogler shouted out in tribute for Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. Most fittingly, the late actor is now among those who belong to the Disney Legend. Beyond the story of the first Black Panther movie, the sequel will delve into the international role of Wakanda. Also, the movie will acknowledge what has happened with the country’s newest King, Boseman’s T’Challa. Because of a position that the country has stated, another culture will emerge from the depths of the sea. Conflicts rise as Namor portrayed by Tenoch Huerta moves to protect his own civilization, the Talocan.

The Queen of Wakanda, Angela Basset described D23 as

…the calm before the amazing storm

This promises that the coming end of Phase 4 in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be everything everyone waited for and possibly more. The run time featured in the report totals 2 hours and 41 minutes. If this is true, then the Black Panther sequel will be one of the longest MCU movies ever. One of which is Avengers: Engame which has 3 hours and 2 minutes. The average run time of MCU movies is 2 hours and 12 minutes according to Murphy’s Multiverse. If Black Panther: Wakanda Forever truly runs 2 hours and 41 minutes then it will be outrunning the Eternals, second only to Avengers: Endgame.

There may be some truth to this apparent run time. Simply because Black Panther: Wakanda Forever seems to be covering a number of storylines in the MCU. First is the country’s status after the death of their Kings as they will also address the loss of T’Challa after his father. Second, the country’s stand after the events of the Snap and the Blip. Third, Shuri’s national and international role as one who may be the next in line to rule. Finally, the Talocan and their apparently long-existing rivalry with Wakandans.

However, as rumors go, it’s best to take the information with a grain of salt. Besides, it will only be a matter of weeks until the run time is official.
