Warner Bros now has Adam Sztykiel, writer of 2022 Black Adam, on board as writer and director for their upcoming DC movie Wonder Twins in HBO Max.
Producers reported are Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill.
This came as a surprise to us.
Warner Bros has green lit a DC movie for Wonder Twins in HBO Max.
Whoah!
Growing up I remember some cartoons featuring the Super Friends Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman and Batman with the Wonder Twins.
It is a Saturday morning cartoon show for kids.
Quite far from the superhero cartoons *ehem*, animation series we get to watch these days.

Fresh from his recent project Black Adam, which is currently in post production, Adam Sztykiel is now tasked to write and direct Wonder Twins.
Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna, are fictional other worldly twin brother and sister superheroes.
They tap on their powers once they touch hands and shout “Wonder Twin Powers Activate!”
They first appeared in Hanna-Barbera’s animated television series The All-New Super Friends Hour.
On November 6, 1977, they were introduced as superheroes-in-training in the comics from writer E. Nelson Bridwell and artist Ramona Fradon.
They are genetic shapeshifters who come from the planet Exor where they lost both their parents to a plague.
No other Exorian would adopt them for fear they would contract the sickness.
A space circus owner adopted them with the intention to use them as sideshow freaks.
The circus clown took them in, raised them and even gave them their pet named Gleek.
Eventually the twins escape the circus as teens and came to a planet where Grax operates his headquarters.
Grax is Superman’s enemy.
Zan and Jayna finds out that Grax plans to destroy the earth and they decide to travel to earth and warn the Justice League.
The superheroes arrange for them to live with a scientist named Professor Carter Nichols.
The twins took on identities as Johan and Joanna Flemming as transfer students from Esko, Sweden.
Zan wears a wig for his disguise, while Jayna uses her powers to change her appearance.
With these personalities, they attend Gotham City High School.

Interestingly, the Wonder Twins first appeared on tv before DC fans ever saw them in the comics.
It would seem that every generation they get introduced into, certain changes or alterations takes place.
Aside from their art, certain aspects of their character would be different.
The power levels or abilities may differ but they would always be shapeshifters.
The origin and story how they got to earth would also be different.
This is why Adam Styzkiel may have a bit of room for his own version or vision of the twins.
Perhaps the closest he can use as basis will be the mini series released in February 2019.
The series was on Wonder Comics, titled “Wonder Twins”.
Fans took to the mini series’ story so well that it expanded to a 12-issue maxi-series.
Mark Russell wrote the maxi-series with Stephen Byrne’s art.

It would be very interesting how Adam Styzkiel would re-introduce Zan and Jayna to us.
Although, this will not be the first live-action adaptation of the twins.
Zan and Jayna, or versions of them, have been featured in Smallville, The Flash and the Arrowverse.
Adam Styzkiel’s filmography showcases a good mix of superhero, family fun, adventure.
The list also features coming-of-age and mystery-solving genres that fit the Wonder Twins’ profile.
The twins are in a new planet, new environment and amongst new people.
On top of it all, they are in highschool where all the awkwardness and self-discovery happens.
It is also important to note that this will be his first ever directorial project.
We are absolutely curious as to how we will see his interpretation of the Wonder Twins.
On a side note, will there be Gleek?
